My workplace is called Haymont Veterinary Clinic , and it takes care of dogs and cats. It's a small business because it's in the parking lot of the car lot enter price and some car place. My workplace is located on Mission Blvd. and the cross street is harder. It's only four people that works there because it's a small business and they are very slow. My mentor went to a 4 year college because he was interested in animals and he wanted to be in this field. My workplace serve animals. My strengths are communicating with patients and my people that I work with. My weakness are answering phones and looking up people on the computer.

My mentor's name is John Chenge , his job is working at a Vetenerian Clinic and helping dogs get better. His typical day is checking animals to see if they are sick or if they need shots also he answer's the phone when patients call. I think he became interested in this field because he knows a lot about animals and how to take care of them when they sick or when they need surgery. he needed 4 years of vet school and drugs to give dogs and cats and what kind of drug they cannot use on dogs and cats.

My main responsibility is being a receptionist who answers phones and take dogs to the back. My other tasks are completing my WLE project and file patients. The regular day is slow and only a few clients come in like 2 or 3 hours apart.

For my project I want to do something on parvo dogs. I came up with this project because their were 2 dogs at the clinic with parvo and I thought it was be interesting to do a project on sick dogs so I'll know what to do when my dogs has parvo. I'm excited because I'm in love with dogs and I inspire them they are my Idol. I didn't get help planning my project in Academic Seminar , I got help from my other mentor Arianna.

What I did at my WLE was my Case Study were I make a file and write down all the stuff that needed to get written down. Me and my mentor talked about how we are going to start this case study like what day this need to be due and she had me do research other the week or weekend and explain to her what I looked up and what does it mean. For my project I accomplished the Case Study and the research also.

Blog #6I'm using the leadership skill Complete Projects Effectively, because I got all of my stuff done on time and even on my spare time I do the stuff I need to do. I'm using the leadership skill ever good and I can improve it by taking my time and not rushing through it. This leadership skill helps me through it because I know that I can complete the project on time before it's due. My second mentor Arianna uses Communicate Powerfully because she talkes to me and tell me what I need to do for this project and what I need to have done.

If some one asked me why is my workplace important I'll say It's important because if your dog is sick ten you'll need to take your dog to the clinic and get them checked out and same thing goes for cats to. The challenges I faced were answering the phones and looking up people on the computer, and telling them how much the prices are for each medicine or vaccines.

Remember way back when you were looking for your WLE? In order to find my WLE and get hired, I had to… I had to give them my resume and show them I really want this job. The most effective way of looking for a job and getting hired is by… being professional and show them that you really want this job and show them that you really are responable. As a result of my WLE, I think being a professional or a responsible adult in the work world means… that you have do take care of yourself and just making yourself look good.

Today I did was watch surguery and took the dogs to the back. I proved by looking people up on the computer. My workplace is great because they are very funny and entertaining to talk to. My final thoughts are that I wish I would have did a harder project. SENIORS: this will affect my future goals by finding another internship that I haven't did before. JUNIORS: just make sure you find a WLE that you really want and not because it's fun and you can do anything.
